Meera Sansthan is registered nonprofit, non-partisan, non-governmental organisation headquartered in Jodhpur, with unparalleled field presence and strength in western Rajasthan. Meera has been active for nearly four decades implementing programmes and projects by national, international and government organisation on health, education and livelihoods. Meera is an implementing partner of the women and child development ministry of the government of India in the large scale out reach programme 'integrated child development services' since 1983. All our work is focused on providing support and facilitating women to help themselves. In fact, the organisation's name is inspired by Meera Bai, a 15th century poet-musician known for her revolutionary spirit and her work toward women of her period to break free from patriarchal subjugation. Meera itself is an embodiment of strength and character. Meera's commitment to empowerment of girls and women is remained rock solid since nearly four decades.
